Shopping centre Het Rond in Houten is a mall including some 100 retail units. To keep up with todays´ demands and expectations of consumers, Altera decided to invest in sustainability by creating a place where people want to remain. Where shopping meets working, relaxing and recreating.
To keep the mall attractive for its tenants and visitors in creating a future-proof investment, owner Altera is renovating the mall into ´a place to be´. Improvements vary from the installation of canopy´s including LED screens to a full renovation of the fresh food area. The accessibility of the roofed-over shopping area will be improved by new escalators and the use of modern materials such as wooden ceilings, green walls and LED lighting.
To ensure the shops remain open for business while the makeover is rolled-out, the Cushman & Wakefield Project & Development Services team divided the full renovation into subprojects. It keeps the business of the retailers running and creates minimal inconvenience for shoppers. Clear signage and a well-thought communication strategy towards all stakeholders, varying from contractors, tenants and the municipality, proves its value in investing in the future while meeting todays´ demands.
